Support and Advocacy for the Disabled and Special Needs Community
By founding a centralized resource and community center for individuals with disabilities and special needs we are setting an example for what true inclusion and accessibility looks like. At Morgan’s MAC, the individuals we serve are called MAC Members. We serve MAC Members of all ages.
Morgan’s MAC serves people of all ages who have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities or with a history or claim of disability that live in Texas.
What Is The MAC's Definition of
Special Needs?
For purposes of The Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan’s Wonderland (The MAC) program, people with a special need are defined as individuals of all ages with long-term impairment of cognitive, sensory, motor and/or communication functions that can be either congenital or acquired and cannot be readily rehabilitated. Furthermore, a special need limits an individual’s ability to perform activities in the range of what is considered typical for a person of the same age and cultural context. A special need may result in associated social, behavioral, or mental health complexities, requiring specialized intervention by a professional.
To become a MAC Member, the individual must actively participate in The MACNav™ services.
What Morgan's MAC Provides
Morgan’s MAC provides the disabilities and special needs community with a collective impact care model that connects members with service providers by collaboration not seen in other care programs. The uniqueness of Morgan’s MAC Care Model™ is that it is designed around addressing Non-Medical Drivers of Health (NMDOH). By providing a custom individualized plan based on their needs, this helps our MAC Members receive the best possible care and help towards success.
In order to provide full care that many in the special needs community requires Morgan’s MAC has established a community of organizations, each providing services they are experts in. The perk of belonging to Morgan’s MAC is that everything is integrated and all coordinated through a customized navigation and tracking system, which lifts the stress of finding resources and tools off the individual or a caretaker.
